My Learning Story
In our first semester of Humber Polytechnic Early Childhood Education Program, I had the privilege of taking a course called Understanding Children Through Observation. In this course we had the chance to learn how to write observations, the importance of avoiding assumptions, along with creating our first ever learning story. This learning story I've attached is a special one to me because it was my first ever learning story. As it was my first semester I remember that I was still adjusting to the assignment weight and structure of college . However, at the time in this semester/month of November this assignment was one I needed emotionally as it less structured, and more fun! In which I will never forget the pride, excitement, and overall joy this one assignment brang me during this time of confusion and learning time management , as this assignment was incredibly postive and inspiring .

My Pedagogical Documentation
During my final semester to obtaining my Early Childhood Education diploma, I had the privilege to practice writing and creating a version of pedagogical documentation. I have used this assignment in my practice to enhance my observation skills, while practising on providing clear, concise, positive, and short stories for families. I chose to showcase this documentation as the video that this documentation was based on, the educator seemed to do an amazing job of caring and involving their students. The educators actions/teaching approach reminds of my curriculum teaching philosophy that learning should be more then just papers and books, and the educator kind personality reminds me of the educator that I want to be.

My Placement Plans
My Family Plan My Children's Plan
When studying at Humber Polytechnic, one privilege we had as students was that we get to participate in 3 field placements. During our duration within each of our placements, we as students are responsible for completing 3 plans along with other tasks. Throughout all my plans, 2 that i completed and are very special to me are my family plan and my children plan. In my family plan , the goal of the plan was to create a resource for the families. I chose to display this plan as throughout all my years of trying to create slime, with helps from my previous placement staff I was not only able to successfully create slime individually for the first time. I could now share the joy with the families . I will use this plan in my practice as a reminder on how to create slime when exploring activity, experiences, and interest/ ideas for my students . When looking at my children’s plan , I was responsible for creating activities based on the children’s interests. I chose to display this plan as I remembered how much fun it was watching the children build their own dinosaurs. Along with the laughs I shared with the children when playing dinosaur match with them . I will use this plan in my future practice to remember that planning based on children interest will always be worth, it as it creates so many memories. I will also use this plan for ideas if I notice my students are interested in dinosaurs .

Throughout my time studying to obtain my Early Childhood Education Diploma, I’ve had the experience of creating several assignments and resources that are special to me. Firstly is my semester one assignment called “I Am… Book”. This assignment is incredibly special as I was so proud of my assignment design , but I also got to share some of the things I love the most in my life and about myself. This made me feel happy getting to express and reflecting on myself, as it felt like a beautiful personal story instead of an assignment. Secondly, is a resource I created during my first placement, that I called "Our Classroom Dragon". This resource is meaningful to me as I was so proud of how it looked for my first ever activity . I remember feeling stressed on what my activity had to be as it was my first one, and I remember feeling scared I would mess the dragon up . However, this resource serves as a reminder to me that ECE’S are always learning, children don’t expect /want perfection , and to trust myself instead of being in doubt . Lastly another resource I created for an assignment that’s important to me , are my homemade seasonal sensory bag . This resource is very meaningful to me as it allows me to reflect on when I was making my sensory bags . As this was my first time ever creating a toy from scratch, and my first time making sensory bags, I remember feeling terrified and doubtful . However, as I got to experiment and had so much advice along with support from my mom. It made creating my bags fun as I got to experiment with them . In which watching and playing with each of them after , before, and during creation are memories I will never forget , as I was so proud when it all came together after weeks of preparing/creating them .
Three Resources I've Used Throughout My Placements
As I reflect on my time within my three placement, I had the chance to realize how many resources I used for planning my activities . Although I used many sources , three resources that helped me the most are Pinterest , YouTube, and Elect. Pinterest helped me come up with activities and ideas whenever I couldn’t come up with inspiration for my activities. YouTube helped me learn about possible activities or science experiments, simple stories I could put on, different songs I can use that align with my lessons, as well as music movements songs I can use when my future students just need to get their energy out . Lastly, the Elect document helped me to ensure my activities and plans were age appropriate
