My goals when I become a educator 

 

In order to support emotions in young children so that they feel a sense of well-being, I will lead a feeling and communication circle everyday, from the start of employment to the end of employment. Two strategies that will help ensure I lead my circles, is by adding time/ evaluating our schedule. Secondly, I will ensure I provide lessons, activities, and a classroom system/space for children to verbally or anomalously express their emotions. 

In order to build close and long lasting relationships with families so that I gain a holistic view of each child, I will share one positive experience about their child each day, from the start of employment to the end of employment . Two strategies I will use to ensure I communicate positive behaviours/ build connections with the families are to create daily observations/jot notes of each child to prevent forgetting the positive behaviour. Another strategy I will use is having a digital communication platform with families like Lillio or Google Classroom. 



 

In order to strengthen the daily operation of the classroom, so that children and families feel trust, safe and confidence in our program, I will ensure me and colleagues work and understand each other as a team. Two strategies I will use to ensure teamwork with my colleagues is firstly by having daily and weekly discussions of what went well, what needs improvements, ideas/activities, and overall outlining and assigning task. Secondly, I will spend time getting to understand/know my colleagues in and where possible outside of work, to understand their personality, feelings, values, strengths, and where they need my support.  

 

In order to continue adapting and enhancing my professional practices, so that my practice aligns with our Ontario Government Documents, I will continue participating in all training's provided from the city, and my place of employment, from the start of employment to the end of employment. Two strategies I will use to participate in various training are researching to see what's available,  and two leadership when choosing to join and participate in the training's. 

 

In order to explore various experience opportunities for the children I work with, so that I can be prepared to support and plan according to children's interest, I will learn about the community my centre is in.  Two ways I will do is firstly by taking a weekly walk in the community by myself or with children, where we can meet people, explore field trip possibility, learn about possible services that could be useful/helpful for the children or families, etc. Secondly, I can engage in daily conversation with people I know or don't know yet, to learn and explore if they have lesser known skills, that could support the needs of my future students or families. In which the conversations/engagement may increase the probability of their assistance as well.

 

In order to teach children about the importance of the environment, so that they grow a relationship and understanding on how to care for it, I will ensure I provide activities and lessons that can be done and taught outdoors. Two ways I will teach lessons and activities outside is firstly by observing/noting children interest, to create possible outdoor experience using their interest to ensure engagement. Secondly I will try to pre-plan outdoor experiences to ensure families are aware and can dress or pack for their children accordingly, to prevent a child from missing out
